Girl dies in accident

SUKKUR, July 19: A teenaged girl was killed and her parents and younger sister were critically injured in a road accident on National Highway, in Dubbar police limits near Sukkur on Saturday morning.

Nazir Ahmed Bhutto along with his family was going to Shuja Abad in a car from Karachi. When they reached near Dubbar their car went out of control and overturned due to over speeding.Nazir’s 17-year-old daughter Iqra died on the spot. He and his wife Naseem Akhtar and another daughter Afshan, 9, got injured in the accident.

They were shifted to taluka hospital in Rohri.

ARRESTS: Ghotki police have arrested 12 suspected criminals during a raid on the dairy farm of Abdul Rab Pitafi at Gopo Pitafi near Keenjhar on Saturday.

Heavy contingent of police led by Mirpur Mathelo SPO Mohsin Raza raided the farm of Abdul Rab Pitafi, a younger brother of PPP MPA Sardar Ahmed Ali Pitafi, and arrested 12 people. Sources said that police also took away six motorcycles from there.

When Sardar Ahmed Ali Pitafi was contacted by journalists, he termed the raid a case of political victimisation.
