SHIKARPUR, July 19: Dakhan police registered an FIR on Friday on the order of Shikarpur DPO against 12 people on charges of holding a jirga a fortnight ago, which decided to give two minor girls in marriage to settle a dispute over karo-kari murder.

The FIR was registered on behalf of state against Allan Shar of Dhamrah, Manzoor Ahmed, Mithal, Jatoi Khan, Abbas, Zahid, Arbab, Nawab, Amanullah, Toto, Meerjan and Gul Meer.

According to police, Mithal Shar suspected that his daughter had illicit relations with one Asadullah Shar. Mithal with the help of his brother Gulzar Ahmed Shar and Jatoi Khan Shar killed his daughter after declaring her kari but before they could kill Asadullah, he ran away towards Balochistan.

According to jirga verdict, Wazeeran, 11 and Noor Jahan, 9, daughters of Arbab Ali Shar, brother of Asadullah, were given in marriage to Ibad Shar and Zahid Shar, sons of Mithal Shar as fine.
