Policeman killed in blast near FC vehicle

QUETTA, July 16: A constable was killed and 12 people, including five paramilitary soldiers, were injured when a bomb planted on a bicycle went off in Mastung on Wednesday.
Five troops of the Frontier Corps and the police constable were injured in the explosion, DPO Malik Arshad Iqbal confirmed.
Sources said that the bicycle had been parked near an FC vehicle outside the town’s main mosque.
The explosion rocked the small town, 55km to the southeast of Quetta. The FC vehicle was blown up, injuring 13 people, including Constable Noor Ahmed who died in a local hospital.“It was a cycle bomb that was detonated with a remote control,” police sources said.
“Around 1kg of explosive substance was used in the act,” the DPO said, adding that three vehicles were destroyed and several shops were damaged.
The injured are Sabz Ali, Abdul Rehman, Imranullah, Khyalzada, Abdul Sattar, Rafiullah, Asadullah Lehri, Ghulam Mujtaba, Zahoor Ahmed, Khan Mohammad, Rasool Bakhsh and Samiullah.
Meanwhile, a gas pipeline was blown up in the Pir Koh area of Dera Bugti on Wednesday afternoon. Gas supply was suspended to the plant from the Pir Koh gas filed after the incident.
