KARACHI: Workshop on cardiac problems
KARACHI, July 16: A three-day workshop on the management of cardiac patients got under way at the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) on Wednesday.
Speaking at the inaugural session of the workshop, CPSP registrar Prof Jan Mohammad said that the use of latest techniques, procedures and guidelines for the management of acute cardiovascular problems would significantly help reduce disability and mortality rate relating to the cardiac diseases in Pakistan, besides ensuring a prolonged life of patients with such problems.
The training programme titled “Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support” is aimed at enhancing expertise in resuscitation science. It is being held for the first time in the country with the support of the American Heart Association. Sixteen health care providers from across the country are participating in the programme, according to Prof Jan Mohammad.—Staff Reporter
