Changes made in PQA board

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, July 16: The newly-constituted Port Qasim Authority (PQA) board was not allowed to hold its first meeting because some changes were made by inducting two new members belonging to Pakistan Ship Agents Association (PSAA).

Official sources said that the government recently constituted the board and included Farooq Rehmatullah, Waqar Malik, Haroon Kapadia, Sher Mohammad Baloch (MNA), and Hassan Zaidi, joint secretary, Ministry of Ports and Shipping, with Admiral Afzal as chairman.

Even before the board could hold its first meeting, some changes were made in the board by including Mohammad Rajpar and Mahmood Maulvi, both representing PSAA.

They are agents of foreign shipping lines in the country.

The other representative body of shipping lines, All-Pakistan Ship Agents Association (APSAA), however, is not given any slot in the new board.
