KARACHI, July 16: Three ships carrying containers, palm oil and furnace oil were allotted berths on Tuesday, said a PQA press release on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, three more ships to load/offload rice, diesel oil and chemicals also arrived at the outer anchorage.

Eight ships, Maersk Denpasar, Sirios, Navision Bulker, Madonna-Ill, Golden Express, Asia Star, Olympic Serenity and Kaghan, were busy in loading and unloading containers, rock phosphate, steel billet, coal, chemicals, palm oil, furnace oil and iron ore.

A cargo volume of 85,713 tons comprising 77,985 tons of import and 7,728 tons of export tonnage was handled.
