LARKANA, July 15: Chief Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar arrived here on Tuesday on a visit which sparked a controversy among lawyers.

While Sindh Law Minister Ayaz Soomro said that the District Bar Association had invited the chief justice, Ahmed Ali Shaikh, president of the Sindh High Court Bar Association’s Larkana chapter, denied having extended the invitation.

Lawyers led by Mr Shaikh and Babu Sarfraz Jatoi held a procession in the sessions court when Justice Dogar arrived at the Circuit House.

The lawyers marched inside the court premises because it had been cordoned off by police.
