Soldier killed in attack

QUETTA, July 15: A security man was killed and two others were injured when a convoy of Frontier Corps was attacked in Dera Bugti district on Tuesday.

According to official sources, the convoy was passing through Sangsella area, some 30kms south of Dera Bugti town, when militants hiding in mountains attacked it. They fired rockets and used other heavy weapons.

A rocket hit a vehicle and badly damaged it.

The dead soldier was identified as Mohammad Khalil.

The injured soldiers were taken to a hospital in Dera Bugti.

Sources said that FC men also lobbed rockets at positions held by the attackers.PIPELINE: Unknown people blew up a pipeline supplying gas to the Pir Koh plant.

A four-foot portion of the 18-inch pipeline was damaged in the blast. Some unknown persons had placed explosives under the pipeline.

Gas supply to the plant is expected to be restored by Wednesday afternoon.

A spokesman for the outlawed Baloch Liberation Army claimed that militants also attacked a convoy of security forces in Ghori area, killing two personnel.
