LAHORE, July 14: An anti-terrorism court on Monday acquitted all the nine accused in Sabzazar shootout case, giving them the benefit of the doubt.
The judge observed that the prosecution failed in demonstrating that the accused were guilty of the charges levelled against them.
Those acquitted are former deputy secretary Tariq Asghar, ASI Noorul Hasan, SI Lala Roshan, SI Manzoor Ahmad, constables Hakim Ali, Abid Ali, Shamshad, Riaz and Munir.
Earlier, the court had acquitted Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif in the case after the complainant withdrew the charges against him.
