KHAIRPUR, July 14: Sindh Minister for Works and Services Manzoor Hussain Wassan has said that more than 20,000 acres of government land in Nara taluka was distributed illegally to different people by the previous government during the past seven years.

He said the government would initiate an inquiry into the matter and action would be taken against those found involved in such acts.

He was speaking at an open katchehry and talking to journalists at circuit house here on Monday.

Mr Manzoor said that hundreds of political workers of Sindh and particularly the PPP workers of Nara taluka had been subjected to political victimisation during the tenure of previous government. He said they would be provided justice.

He said conspiracies were hatched on national and international levels against the PPP, but they failed.

Over a question, he said the Karachi city nazim must keep in mind that PPP obtained 850,000 votes in Karachi in the last general elections and he was also working under the ministry of local government.

He said the PPP would never forget that the people of Sindh had suffered greatly during their struggle for the restoration of democracy. He said 40 PPP workers of the district who had taken part in the struggle for democracy against dictatorship were given motorcycles.
