KARACHI, July 12: Fancied three-year-old dark bay filly Sweet Girl is on course for a hat trick should she get past the opponents by returning with flying colours in the feature event of the Gymkhana race meeting at the Karachi Racecourse on Sunday.

She has won two races on a trot under rider Arshad in convincing fashion and on her current form looks certain to emerge victorious for a third successive time. All together there are 10 horses that are to vie for the honours in the five furlongs sixth and last race of the day barring last minute withdrawls.

Those who come in reckoning for the places are mares Savabeel and Afroze Jehan.

The fifth race which is the supporting event has 16 acceptors after scratching. It will be a touch-and-go affair between three-year-old chestnut colt Star Of Galaxy and three-year-old bay colt Speed Of Arab.

We fancy the former who posted two lengths victory over The Reyan with M. Nasir in the saddle last Sunday to earn promotion in top division of class VII.

On the other hand, Speed Of Arab who was installed favourite in another race last weekend was beaten by second favourite Baby John but in the end the race was cancelled by the racing committee for want of competition among other contenders.

Five-year-old mare Bewitched should make amends by picking up spoils in the opener which has a small field of seven runners. He is likely to be chased by Hamza Prince.

Ten-year-old bay Trust Again is our fancy in the next race. His likely challengers are Princess Sparkle and Love Pakistan.

The present form of three-year-old dark bay colt Persian Blue suggest that he will make it two-in-a-row by claiming the third race while colt The Reyan is our fancy in the fourth race.

A card of six races all to be run over five furlongs has been drawn for the day. The first race starts at 2.30pm.
