SHEIKHUPURA, July 12: A pesticide dealer beat up an Agricultural Department deputy director and his staff here on Saturday.

Muhammad Khan and his staffers, following information, raided the shop of Nasrullah for selling adulterated items. But Nasrullah and his sons attacked the team with iron rods and shoes. They were rescued by area shopkeepers and police.

Later, the raiding party recovered 250kg spurious pesticides from the shop. Farooqabad police registered a case against Nasrullah and his sons.

ACCIDENT: A couple was hit and killed by a car near Chak 42, Rana Town, on GT Road on Saturday. Riaz and his wife, Zeenat, were standing along the road when a car hit them, killing them instantly. Car driver Sarwar also sustained injuries.
