SIALKOT, July 12: On the order of Justice Muhammad Akram Qureshi of the Lahore High Court (LHC), Motra police on Saturday registered a murder case against four station house officer (SHOs), three sub-inspectors (SIs), five assistant sub-inspectors (ASIs) and more than 100 policemen for allegedly killing a youth in a fake encounter near Lakra village of Daska tehsil on May 21.

In his application to Motra police, plaintiff Inayat Ali Ansari of Gujranwala has accused Sambrial police SHO Muhammad Riaz Dar, Civil Lines police SHO Khalid Mehmood, Satrah police SHO Javaid Hussain and Muradpur police SHO Malik Irfan Ahmad, sub-inspectors Muhammad Akhtar, Muhammad Ilyas and Sajjad Anwar, ASIs Khalid Wariya, Muhammad Afzal, Amjad Ali and Muhammad Sadiq and more than 100 policemen of killing his ‘innocent’ brother Muhammad Tariq in a fake encounter. He said police took Tariq, a taxi driver, as a proclaimed offender and killed him later.

However, Motra police had not arrested any accused till Saturday evening.

On Friday, Daska’s Sadar police registered a murder case against three SHOs for allegedly killing an ‘innocent’ youth in a fake encounter near Daska on May 21. This case too was registered on the order of Justice Qureshi.

Plaintiff Iqbal Bibi of Dhadhu Basra village says Daska City police SHO Waqar Javaid Bhatti, Motra police SHO Rana Zahid and Daska Sadar police SHO Rai Safdar picked her son Kashif from her house and later killed him in a fake encounter.
