Bowlers’ rule continues at U-15 cricket


KARACHI, July 11: Bowlers continued to rule at the KCCA Under-15 Inter-zonal Cricket Championship on Thursday.

At the KCCA Stadium spin duo of Bilal Manzoor and Kamran Khan shared six wickets between them to bowl Zone-IV to a 77-run victory over Lasbela District.

Left-arm spinner Ali Nawaz produced excellent figures of 5-24 and off-spinner Adeel Anwar claimed three wickets for 37 to enable Zone-V to beat Zone-VI by six wickets at Pak Star Ground.

In another match played at the Students Ground, Zone-VII enjoyed a thrilling two-wicket win against Zone-II thanks to fine bowling by off-spinner Shoaib Rabbani (4-60) and leg-spinner Hasan Khan (3-36).

ZONE-IV 184 in 49.1 overs (Haider Ali 36, Kamran Khan 20, Faizan Ahmed 19, Kaleemullah 17; Ghamman Baloch 5-45); LASBELA DISTRICT 107 in 40.3 overs (Abdullah 20, Abdul Waheed 19, Saud Ahmed 18; Bilal Manzoor 3-30, Kamran Khan 3-0).

ZONE-VI 120 in 39.3 overs (Hassan Azad 36, Faraz Ali 28; Ali Nawaz 5-24, Adeel Anwar 3-27); ZONE V 121-4 in 33.3 overs (Rahim Khan 38, Abid Ali 27, Faizan Khan 23 not out; Noman Raza 2-21, Faraz Ali 2-24).

ZONE-II 175 in 47.1 overs (Hamza Naqvi 65, Rao Iftikhar 60; Shoaib Rabbani 4-60, Hasan Khan 3-36); ZONE-VII 176-8 in 48 overs (Mohammad Waqas 37, Saad Maqsood 30, Anwar Zeb 29; Irshad Ahmed 3-40, Ubaid Ali 2-16).—APP
