HYDERABAD, July 11: Hy-derabad Electricity Supply Company here on Friday signed an agreement with Haji Ismail Mills Kotri to purchase two megawatts of electricity at the rate of Rs4.15 per kilowatts.

The agreement was signed at a simple ceremony held at the committee hall of Hesco power colony between Hesco chief Guftar Ahmed Anjum and Haji Ismail Mills’ Managing Director Mian Nasir Mushtaq Vohra.

Under the agreement Haji Ismail Mills Kotri will supply two megawatts of electricity to Hesco on regular basis.

Speaking on the occasion, Hesco chief said that the country was passing through the electricity crisis and in accordance with the rules of Pepco, the agreement had been signed to ease the situation.

Very soon Hesco would also sign agreements with nine other industrial organisations for which talks were under way, the Hesco chief said and added that two such agreements with Saffire and Anood textile mills were already in process.

He said Hesco was making all-out efforts to provide uninterrupted electric supply to people.

Mian Nasir Mushtaq Vohra said in future his organisation would supply more electricity to Hesco.

Hesco chief engineer technical Habibullah Khilji and other senior officers of the company were also present on the occasion.

Plantation: The Forest Department officials have been directed to prepare in three days, the PC-1 and action plan for implementation of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah’s orders to plant 500,000 neem saplings in the district.

The DCO Ali Ahmed gave the directives on Friday in a meeting at Shahbaz Hall, specifically convened to make the scheme a success.

Regretting the failure of officials to prepare PC-1 and action plan on schedule, he directed them to prepare it in three days for launching plantation drive. The DOs Revenue, Finance, Education, Agriculture, Works and Services, Forests, Roads and all TMOs attended the meeting.

The DCO said saplings should be planted on the banks of River Indus, on highways and in and around government premises and school compounds. He said cooperation should also be sought from nazims, elected representatives and NGOs.
