Rs3.2bn budget for Tharparkar

MITHI, July 10: The district council of Tharparkar unanimously approved on Thursday the Rs3.246 billion budget for the financial year 2008-09.

District nazim Arbab Anwar presented the budget at the session.

According to the budget documents, the revenue has been estimated at Rs3,246.375 million and expenditure at Rs3,246.170 million.

Rs858 million has been allocated for ongoing development projects, Rs596.6 million for new schemes, Rs1,302.415 million for salaries, Rs419.155 million for expenses other than salary, Rs18.969 million earmarked for health sector, Rs109.635 million for education, Rs531.961 million for roads, Rs27.780 million for water supply and drainage, Rs107 million for CCB schemes, Rs35 million for lining of watercourses, Rs19.875 million for agriculture sector, Rs65.578 million for physical planning and housing and Rs8.051 million for social welfare. An amount of Rs1302.415 million has been allocated for salaries of district departments and Rs305.585 million for expenses other than salaries.
