LAHORE, July 9: The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) will be holding day-long trials on Thursday for shortlisting of probables in the ongoing Beijing Olympic hockey training camp underway at the National Hockey Stadium since June 30.

The training camp comprising some 29 probables have undergone intensive training since the start of the camp with five of the players already commissioned for the national junior hockey team, currently in Hyderabad for the 6th Men’s Junior Asia Cup.

The proceedings would be attended by former Olympians chairman of the national selection committee Islahuddin Siddiqui and manager/chief coach Khawaja Zakauddin along with former secretary Mudassar Asghar and PHF secretary Asif Bajwa.

Pakistan Hockey Federation President Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali will not be attending these trials as he is out of the country as is Islah who is expected to be back on late Wednesday night or Thursday morning.

The final trials for the Olympic squad will be held on July 21-22.
