LAHORE, July 9: Kazakhstan’s senior team thrashed the Pakistan junior team 3-0 in the President of Kazakhstan International Volleyball Tournament at Almaty, according to information received here.

The young green shirts performed well in the first set but Kazakhstan’s spikers never allowed them to move beyond that, winning the first set 25-23. In the second set, Kazakhstan maintained their attacking game and doubled the lead with the score of 25-22.

This was followed by the home side clinching the final set after a gruelling fight, the score being 25-23.

Seven countries including hosts Kazakhstan, Iran, Pakistan, Bahrain, Russia, Tunisia and Slovenia are contesting in the July 6-13 event.—Sports Reporter
