Tahir spins Zone-V to victory

KARACHI, July 9: Left-arm spinner Mohammad Tahir captured six wickets to spin Zone-V to a six-wicket win over Zone-II in the KCCA Under-15 Inter-zonal cricket tournament at the Landhi Gymkhana on Tuesday.

Tahir took six wickets for nine runs and Ali Nawaz claimed three for 27 as Zone-II were spun out for 139 in 42 overs. Ahmer Bin Nasir scored 58 with five fours.

In another match Zone-IV beat Zone-VII by 24 runs at the Students Ground. Off-spinner Mohammad Waqar grabbed four wickets for 32 while Shoaib Rabbani got 3-31 for the winners.

At the TMC Ground, Faraz Ahmed finished with excellent figures of five wickets for 28 to bowl Zone-VI to a seven-wicket win over Zone-I.
