KARACHI, July 9: The Gul-shan Town administration has said it will not allow the KESC and PTCL to undertake road-cutting for the laying of under ground cables or carry out repairs as the utilities had failed to clear the town’s dues outstanding against them on the same account.

Town Nazim Wasey Jalil said on Wednesday that the KESC owed Rs30 million while PTCL owed Rs3.65 million to the town on account of road repair after they carried out digging within the town’s limits.

“The town administration is facing difficulties in carrying out immediate repair work due to their default on payment,” he maintained.

He said that the KESC, instead of clearing the dues, had arranged for deduction at source which had put the town in trouble.

“In future, the KESC and PTCL will not be granted any permission for road-cutting within the town’s limits until they clear their dues,” he said, warning that digging without permission would be dealt with strictly and any cables laid illegally would be removed.—APP
