KARACHI: Hearing of double murder case put off

KARACHI, July 9: Additional district & sessions court-II (Central), headed by Nelofer Shahnawaz, on Wednesday adjourned till July 21 the hearing of a double murder case as the witnesses could not turn up to testify.

The court issued bailable warrants for the arrest of one of the witnesses, Sakeena Bibi, wife of the complainant, who had been ignoring the court’s notices and reminders asking her to appear in the court. She is also the daughter of the accused, Abdul Latif, aged over 70.

According to prosecution, the elderly man had stabbed the brother and uncle of his son-in-law, Mushtaq Ahmed, on Sept 27, 2000 in the limits of Kawaja Ajmer Nagri police station.

The victims, Waris Hussain and Farman Ali, were rushed to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital in a serious condition but could not survive.—Staff Reporter
