PFF decides to hold rematch

By Our Sports Reporter

KARACHI, July 8: The appeal’s committee of the Pakistan Football Federation has decided to hold a rematch between the two Karachi league toppers — Karachi Kickers and Diya Women’s Football Club — of the National Inter-club Women’s football championship.

Both teams had collected 10 points each through their respective encounters with Kickers being slightly ahead on goal average.

But all that does not count anymore as the rematch, after the cheating and fixed matches controversy, is to be played on a knockout basis.

Whoever is the winner, will go on to play in the Super Four tournament in Lahore, starting at the Punjab Stadium from July 16.

Lahore’s WP Club, Sialkot’s Vehari United and Rawalpindi’s Young Rising Stars are the other three outfits competing in the Super Four.

The decider kicks off at the CDGK Stadium here at 6.00pm on Thursday.
