Bandits free 5 hostages

KHAIRPUR, July 8: Five persons, who were kidnapped in two separate incidents from Khairpur, were freed by their kidnappers and reportedly reached their homes.

A religious scholar Maulvi Syed Irshad Hussain Shah, Syed Zeeshan Shah and their driver Abdul Majeed Jamali, were kidnapped by bandits on June 21, between Lakhi and Madeji Shikarpur district, while they were on their way from Khairpur to Larkana.

They were freed by bandits on Tuesday night near Madeji.

Syed Zeeshan Shah is son of former renowned progressive students leader late Iqbal Shah Bukhari.

The kidnapped persons were freed after police started operation against them in Shikarpur.

On the other hand, a student Adnan Bhambhan, who was kidnapped along with his driver Mumtaz Hussain Jogi from Tando Mir Ali area on June 28, was also freed by the bandits.
