KARACHI, July 8: The district and sessions judge, South, Arjun Ram K. Talreja, on Tuesday deferred till July 24 the indictment of the suspects in the murder case of renowned artist Ismail Gulgee, his wife and a maidservant.

Gulgee, Zareen Gulgee and their maid Asiya were strangled by unidentified men in their house situated in the Boating Basin police limits on Dec 19, 2007. When found, the bodies were three days old while the driver and a servant had gone missing with a car of the victim family.

The police registered a case (FIR 490/07) at the Boat Basin police station under Section 302/34 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

Suspects Akram Ali, the Gulgees’ driver, and his associate Anwar were arrested on Feb 16 by the Anti-Violent Crime Unit in a hotel near the Cantt railway station and were sent to jail.
