HYDERABAD, July 8: Sindh Minister for Local Bodies Agha Siraj Khan Durrani on Tuesday suspended three officers of Sehwan taluka municipal administration for supplying filthy and contaminated water to people.

The minister suspended Sehwan TMO Mohammad Azam Memon, taluka officer infrastructure Ghulam Asghar Bhand and TMO of finance after finding water supply tanks filled with rubbish and garbage during a surprise visit to the taluka.

He told people who had gathered at the place that the officers had been warned a few days ago but they failed to resolve the problem. The present government believed in serving people rather than ruling at the cost of public money, he said.

He said that the government servants were drawing salaries from public money and were duty-bound to serve people. He warned the officers of local government to change their bureaucratic attitude towards people and serve them with a missionary spirit.

He said he had decided to pay surprise visits to every district and if he found any officer guilty, he would deal with him accordingly.

Earlier, the minister visited the Mazar of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar, laid floral wreath on the grave and offered fateha.
