SUKKUR, July 8: A man was gunned down by armed men in katcha area of Ghora Ghat police limits near Kandhkot on Tuesday.

A group of armed men raided the katcha area of Ghora Ghat and opened fire at Mohammad Usman Sabzoi who died on spot.

Police shifted the body to Kandhkot hospital for post-mortem. No case was registered.

Local people said that the reason for the murder was an ongoing dispute between Sabzoi and Sawand tribesmen sparked three years ago over a robbery and so far it had claimed 20 lives.

COP HURT: Armed men injured a police constable at Lashari Muhalla in Thull on Tuesday.

Two policemen, Abdul Ghani Mahar and Ehsan Ahmed, were patrolling on a motorcycle. Some armed dacoits intercepted them and tried to snatch their motorcycle at gunpoint. Over the policemen’s resistance the dacoits attacked them with the gun butts, injuring constable Ehsan and fled.
