KARACHI, July 8: Three ships carrying containers, chemicals and furnace oil were accommodated berths during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, five more ships with containers, palm oil and chemicals also arrived at the outer anchorage.

Berth occupancy was maintained at 90 per cent at the wharves where 10 ships, Sea Land Patriot, Inori, Lucien G.A, Alfa-K, Arcadia, Sirlos, CS Crane, Sea Sky, Sic hem Defender and Kaghan, were busy in loading and unloading containers, wheat, coal, rock phosphate, palm oil, furnace oil, chemicals and iron ore.

A cargo volume of 83,115 tons comprising 75,111 tons of import and 8,004 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Qem Star, Lucien G.A and Sea Land Patriot sailed out while CS Crane and Alfa-K were due to depart.
