All-Pakistan swimming commences

PESHAWAR, July 6: The 3rd All-Pakistan NWFP Governor (Age Group) Swimming Championship began here at the Adil Khan Swimming Pool with Punjab and Balochistan’s absence.

According to Secretary Pakistan Swimming Federation Major Majid, “Punjab couldn’t come due to security fears while Balochistan is lacking swimmers in the said age group.”

“The event is part of the national calendar and both Punjab and Balochistan had confirmed their participation but now the teams are not coming,” informed Secretary of the NWFP Swimming Association M. Asif when asked to comment on the matter.

Meanwhile, players from Islamabad, Sindh, FATA and hosts NWFP are taking part in the event.—APP
