SHEIKHUPURA, July 6: A police constable was killed while a sub-inspector, three constables and a proclaimed offender suffered critical injuries when an official van overturned on Motorway Faizpur interchange on Sunday.

Reports said Sattukala police were on its way back to Lahore after arresting a proclaimed offender from a village.

Near Faizpur interchange the driver lost control over the speeding vehicle as a result it overturned after hitting a fence installed on Motorway.

Driver Munir, constable, died on the spot while SI Arif, constables Ijaz, Shahid, Qamar Abbas and an unidentified proclaimed offender sustained serious injuries and were removed to hospital.

Factory Area police are investigating.

ROBBERY: Four armed dacoits entered the house of widow Sakina in Imamia Colony bt scaling the boundary wall, held the family hostage and made off with cash, jewellery and other valuables worth Rs200,000.

Ferozewala police are looking into the matter.
