Storm uproots power poles

HYDERABAD, July 6: The entire area of unit-10 of Latifabad was badly hit by power breakdown when eight cement poles of 11KV lines of Hyderabad Electric Supply Company fell near Bachao Bund during a storm on Sunday.

A Hesco spokesman confirmed that the incident which happened at around 7pm severed the electricity supply to unit-10.The poles of L-10 were connected with Khosar grid station of Hesco.

It is believed that the electricity supply to unit-10 Latifabad would remain suspended for several hours.

The spokesman said that due to the strong winds the poles fell one by one as they were interconnected with heavy wires.
