LAHORE, July 5: The Punjab Local Government Commission (PLGC) has decided to hold audit of the district governments and tehsil municipal administrations by reputed international audit firms.

This was decided at a meeting of the commission held here on Saturday.

Punjab Local Government Minister and PLGC Chairman Sardar Dost Muhammad Khan Khosa presided over the meeting.

Commission members Akhtar Mahmood, Ejaz Maharvi, Local Bodies Department secretary Khwaja Naeem and other officers concerned participated in the meeting.

Matters pertaining to financial embezzlement and complaints against different district governments were discussed at the meeting, and the commission ordered legal action in this connection. —APP
