SHEIKHUPURA, July 5: The no-confidence motion was passed against District Nazim Mian Jalil Sharaqpuri with an overwhelming majority in the district assembly here on Saturday.

Convener and naib nazim Malik Rehmat Dogar tabled the motion in the house where 103 district council members unanimously passed the no-trust motion against the district nazim, who did not attend the session.

According to the law, the resolution was being sent to the local government secretary and the provincial election authority, the naib nazim said. District Nazim Mian Jalil Sharaqpuri termed the Saturday session unconstitutional. He said the district council session could not be convened without the approval of the district nazim.

BODIES FOUND: The district police recovered bodies of two unidentified youths in Adian and Khanpur villages.
