Moneychanger robbed of Rs10 million

LAHORE, July 5: Robbers looted Pakistani as well as foreign currency worth Rs10 million from a moneychanger in Barket Market on Saturday.
Garden Town police said five armed men barged in Premier Money Changers in Gull Plaza, held manager Asim Sajan, cashier Asim and office boy Waris at gunpoint and escaped after looting cash.
Three robbers snatched cash, a cell phone and a motorcycle from Asim Bashir in Lytton Road police limits, while two armed men deprived Saifullah of his motorcycle in Hanjarwal police limits.
Shahid was deprived of Rs17,000 in cash and a cell phone in Mughalpura and Nasir Ali of Rs75,000 and a cell phone in North Cantonment.
MURDERS: Three people were murdered for different reasons in the city on Saturday.
Factory Area police said Amjad, 18, of Zubair Colony, had an argument with Hashim as a result of which the latter along with accomplices shot him dead.
Saeed Anwar of Nizamabad was on his way to the college when unidentified people opened fire on him and escaped. He succumbed to his injuries in the Jinnah Hospital.
Badami Bagh police said Mehram Ali, 38, was found shot dead in his house in Husain Park.
ARRESTED: The anti-motorcycle lifting staff claimed on Saturday to have arrested 12 outlaws and recovered from them 22 motorcycles worth Rs1 million.
According to police, the accused have confessed to committing 28 such crimes during preliminary interrogation. DIG investigation Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhaira directed SP CRO Jahanzaib Nazir Khan to take effective measures against the gangs involved in motorcycle lifting from various parts of the city. A team collected the particulars of motorcycle lifters and arrested 12 thieves from different areas of the city.
Those arrested are Suhail, Akhtar, Abdul Wahid, Kamran, Zahid, Bashir, Iftikhar, Ghulam Rasool, Shabbir, Mudassar Butt, Bilal and Talib Hussain.
