KARACHI, July 5: An additional district and sessions judge adjourned the hearing of a kidnapping and murder case against Muhajir Qaumi Movement chief Afaq Ahmed on the request of defence counsel on Saturday.

The additional district and sessions judge-VI, east, Abdul Razzaq, adjourned the hearing of the case against Afaq Ahmed, being conducted inside the central prison, on the request of defence counsel till August 4.

The court had earlier dismissed the bail plea of Afaq Ahmed on July 2.

Afaq Ahmed, Amir Khan and their associates were charged for kidnapping Muttahida Qaumi Movement workers, Mohammad Farooq, Mohammad Tahir, Salman and M. Anwar, in Landhi police limits on June 19, 1992. They allegedly killed Mohammad Farooq later.
