Termination of two doctors recommended

By Our Correspondent

SIALKOT, July 4: An investigation team has recommended immediate termination of two Allama Iqbal Memorial Hospital doctors, out-of-district transfer of a nurse and transfer of a gynaecology ward servant after they were found guilty of malpractices.

The accused staff refused to operate upon a poor woman, Hameeda, of Rangpura after she refused to buy prescribed medicines from their ‘recommended’ medical store a few days ago. They also ‘thrashed’ the woman when she protested against their behaviour.

Executive District Officer for Health Dr Talat Iqbal, who headed the investigation against the accused, told newsmen that doctors Khalid Mehmood and Iram Shehzad, nurse Naseem Akhtar and gynaecology ward servant Tasleem Goga were involved in the episode.
