SHEIKHUPURA, July 4: Up to 64 union council (UC) nazims, in a meeting of the district council, presented a no-trust motion against District Nazim Jalil Ahmad Sharaqpuri here on Friday.

Convener Malik Rehmat Ali Dogar adjourned the house till July 5.

Up to 97 members in the 140-member house are required to get the move succeeded. Tahir Saeed Gujjar, the mover of the motion, told journalists they had the required number to oust the district nazim.

Another UC nazim Rana Wajahat Ali said the district nazim had not carried out any remarkable development work in his tenure.

CYLINDER EXPLOSION: A labourer died while two others were injured when a welding plant cylinder exploded at a factory near Mandiale on Lahore Road. Usman, Abbas and Hanif were working in the factory when the cylinder exploded leaving Usman dead instantly while Hanif and

Abbas were injured and hospitalised.

Factory Area police are investigating into the matter.
