THATTA: Woman admits killing husband

By Our Correspondent

THATTA, July 4: A woman has confessed to killing his husband as he had consistently tortured her during 11 years of marriage.

Maryam, resident of Goth Mohamad Umar Jat of the Mirpur Bathoro area, told journalists at the office of Thatta DPO (investigation) Khalid Mustafa Korai here that six days ago she had mixed sleeping pills in some edible which were eaten by her husband, Ahmed Jat, a tractor driver.

Then she slew him with a sharp instrument, she said and added that she had planned the murder with the consent of her mother.

She said that she had been compelled to take the extreme step because she could no more bear her husband’s atrocious behaviour about which she had complained to her in-laws but to no avail.
