MIRPURKHAS: MNA complains of victimisation

MIRPURKHAS, July 4: The PML-F supporters, workers, and district council members are being harassed to change their loyalties, alleged an MNA and a District Nazim. The allegations were made by the MNA Jadam Mangrio and Umerkot District Nazim Maghan Mangrio on Thursday.

Speaking at a press conference in the office of District Nazim, Umerkot, Mr Jadam believed the Sindh Minister for Low Cost Housing and Human Resources Syed Ali Mardan Shah and Umerkot DCO Ghulam Akbar Laghari were behind it.

He alleged that the brother of minister, Syed Noor Ali Shah, the DCO and policemen were issuing threats of implicating district council members in narcotic case if they did not support the PPP-backed Awam Dost Panel.

Mr Jadam told Mr Shah to mend his ways and also reminded of the help Jadam provided him when he faced difficulties in 1990. He told the DCO not to act like a henchman of Ali Mardan Shah as rulers can change any time while he will stay to serve.

To a question he said that District Naib Nazim Kanwar Hameer Singh was a Rajput who will not bow before anyone out of fear or favour.

District Nazim Faqeer Maghan Mangrio said the DCO had hatched conspiracies against the district government through undue intervention in the budget and other administrative affairs. He said that all officials were bound to obey his orders for being head of the district and regretted that their proposals were included in the budget.He said no trust motion will fail as majority of members supported him.

Medicines: Civil Surgeon, Civil Hospital Mirpurkhas, Dr Roshan Ali Bhatti said that he had received six month vaccination course for 230 registered patients of hepatitis-C out of the total 700 registered patients.

He said Zila Nazim Mirpurkhas Dr Sughra Junejo provided funds to the Health Department for purchasing vaccines of hepatitis-C after supply from Islamabad stopped.

He hoped that onwards vaccine would be regularly provided to registered Hepatitis-C patients.

RAIN: EDO Community Development Department Syed Zakir Ali has asked the non-government organisations to cooperate with the district government in case of emergency during rains.

He was presiding over a meeting of the district’s NGOs, here on Thursday. He said arrangements had been made to monitor the situation and concerned departments directed to keep their employees at standby.
