KARACHI: JI warns of strike against inflation

KARACHI, July 2: The Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) intends to give a call for a wheel-jam strike against the government’s “imprudent economic policies’ that have resulted in growing inflation, price spiral especially of oil, gas, items of daily use and soaring tariff of utilities, warns a party spokesman.

The spokesman said on Wednesday that masses would respond positively to the strike call which would be a referendum against the government’s policies.

The spokesman argued that the hike in oil prices were being linked with the growing oil prices in the international market but there was no justification for the increase in the locally produced gas.

He termed the PPP-led government an utter failure.—PPI
