Pakistan players clear dope tests
KARACHI, July 1: No Pakistan player was found positive in the out-of-competition doping tests carried out by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) under the supervision of accredited World Anti Doping Agency (WADA) Anti Doping control officers of Anti Doping Organisation of Pakistan.
The procedure of carrying out the tests was performed before the ongoing Asia Cup.
According to the PCB on Monday, the samples were sent to WADA accredited Laboratory in Penang, Malaysia and all the results were negative.
Pakistan cricket was rocked in 2006 just before the ICC Champions Trophy in India when their top two fast bowlers Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammad Asif were tested positive when the board conducted the players’ dope tests internally.—APP
