FM transmitter installed at radio station

LARKANA, July 1: A high-powered F.M (Frequency Modulation) transmitter would soon be installed to replace the old 10KW transmitter at Radio Pakistan Larkana.

The Director General Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation (PBC) Murtaza Solangi said this while addressing the function marking the launching of news bulletin in Sindhi from Radio Pakistan Larkana on Tuesday.

He said the new digital system at all the Radio Stations throughout the country would be installed to meet modern requirements.

He said updating the news bulletin along with other programmes would be his priority and added the news at Radio would not be the ‘ministernama’ instead it would cover all events.

Haji Munwar Ali Abbasi MPA, who inaugurated the news section at the radio station Larkana on behalf of Nisar Khuhro Speaker Sindh Assembly, said that it was the dream our slain leader Ms Benazir Bhutto to have 100KW transmitter here but it was diverted to Turbat by former minister Ms Zubaida Jalal.

He said the present government was determined to make development without any discrimination.

Khalid Iqbal Memon former PPP MNA termed the event a historical and congratulated the managers. Station Director Muhammed Ali Banbhan, Controller News Radio

Sindh province also spoke on the occasion and called for starting Urdu bulletin from Radio Larkana.

They also called for medical, transport facilities coupled with enhancing the budget so as to meet the challenges of the time.
