HYDERABAD: Govt failed on all fronts, says Mumtaz
By Our Correspondent
HYDERABAD, July 1: Chief of the Sindh National Front Mumtaz Ali Bhutto has said that the present People’s Party government seems to be failing on all fronts as no clear policy, in any regard, is announced even if it’s argument of ‘financial constraints’ is to be accepted.
He was addressing a press conference here Tuesday at a local hotel.
He said the culture of bribery and corruption was still flourishing in the country. He said that no one was considering bribe a crime and added that institutions had been destroyed.
He said that people were groaning under the price hike and joblessness while the government had no clear strategy to deal with it.
Mr Mumtaz Ali Bhutto said that history tells people that revolutions always follow such situations.
He said that people were enjoying luxuries in the government thanks to sacrifice of Ms Benazir Bhutto.
He maintained that certain things were common in the murders of Ms Benazir Bhutto and her brother Mir Murtaza Bhutto. In the latter’s case the culprits remained safe and got benefits and now same is being witnessed after Benazir Bhutto’s killing. He however avoided naming anyone in the case and called for impartial investigations.
He said that he would not compromise on his principles. He, however, said that if true friends of the Bhutto family approached him he would hold talks with them for the unification of the Bhuttos. Otherwise, he said, he wouldn’t let his labour of 25 years go down the drain.
