KARACHI: KU announces BCom results

KARACHI, July 1: The University of Karachi on Tuesday announced the results of BCom part II/ both parts (regular) annual examinations 2007.

All the top three positions were bagged by girl students. The first and second positions were clinched by the students of DHA Degree College for Women while the third position was shared by the students of DHA Degree College for Women and Govt College of Commerce and Economics.

Saba Mohammad Yousuf (Roll No724863) stood first in the order of merit as she secured 878 out of total 1,100 marks while the second position went to Sidra Adil who got 876 marks. Both the students belonged to the DHA Degree College for Women.

The third position was, however, shared by Tahira Yawer Ali (Roll No 724884) of DHA Degree College for Women and Biby Samia Shaikh (Roll No 726023) of Govt College of Commerce and Economics as both of them got 864 marks.

According to the statistics, as many as 23,998 candidates appeared in the examinations and of them 1,676 got first division, 5,020 managed to secure second division while 93 candidates were placed in the third division.

The overall pass percentage remained at 28.28.

Sports workshop

The speaker of the Sindh Assembly, Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, will inaugurate a five-day sports workshop at the University of Karachi on Wednesday, PPI adds. The inaugural session of the workshop titled ‘Mastering in Modern Sports Management Techniques, will be presided over by the KU vice-chancellor.
