State of emergency
Mongolian President Nambariin Enkhbayar late Tuesday declared a four-day state of emergency amid violent protests in the capital, according to national television.
The decision was announced at 11:30 pm (1530 GMT) on national television.
“Stop this violence immediately. If the violence does not stop immediately then I will be forced to make a strong decision,” the president said in an earlier address broadcast on national television.—AFP
