MD vows to bring PIA at break-even by 2010

LAHORE, June 29: PIA Managing Director (MD) Captain Aijaz Haroon has vowed to bring the organisation at breakeven by 2010.

Talking to a delegation of the PIA Lahore Senior Staff Association here on Sunday, the MD said that with fuel adjustment, the national airline would get Rs3.4 billion. He said that fuel-efficient aircraft would be inducted in the fleet.

He said that deserving employees would get promotion and that service structure was also being improved. He said that pension rate would also be increased to benefit the retired employees.

Captain Haroon has regularised some 6,200 employees during the last six weeks or so.
