TAXILA, June 29: Former federal minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan on Sunday claimed that the PPP-led coalition government had failed to resolve the problems being faced by the people.

Speaking at a press conference, he also accused the Punjab government of political victimisation and suspending of all the development activities in the province. Mr Khan was flanked by the elected representatives of the PML.

Mr Khan said the government had failed to control price hike of daily-use items and provide flour to the masses at official rates. Power cuts were frequent and crime graph was on the surge, he added.

The former minister said the government was diverting the attention of people from the real issues and focussing on the matters that were of no concern to them. The government was not according importance to economic issues which, he said, concerned people the most.

Responding a question, he said the deposed judges could not be restored before June 2009, and that both the coalition ruling parties were “fooling the masses”.

Mr Khan said all the development funds in the province had been stopped and that the government apparatus was being used to victimise the political opponents.
