HYDERABAD: Govt keen on improving healthcare: DCO

HYDERABAD, June 28: The government is working on a strategy to monitor the performance of doctors and paramedical staff of all hospitals, rural health centres (RHCs), and basic health units (BHCs), said District Coordination Officer Hyderabad Ali Ahmed Lund.

The aim is to ensure provision of medical facilities to needy people, he said in the meeting with a three-member delegation of Asian Development Bank for Field Fact Finding Mission for Sindh Public Resources Management Programme at his office, on Saturday.

Ali Ahmed told the delegation that the district government was giving priority to health sector and had launched multidimensional and multipurpose projects, including capacity building of doctors and paramedical staff.

The DCO said budget allocations for health sector had also been increased adding technical collaboration of the ADB for laying effective communication system between health units and district administration concerned and logistic arrangements would be supplementary efforts towards converting hospitals into reforming and welfare units for the sick.
