KOHAT: Weapons seized, outlaw held

KOHAT, June 28: The Kohat police arrested a notorious outlaw wanted in heinous crimes and recovered huge quantity of weapons in a raid at a house in Togh Bala here on Saturday.

The police acting on prior information about the presence of two dangerous outlaws in a house in Togh Bala raided the place and arrested Saifur Rehman alias Badil recovering three Kalashnikov rifles, four hand grenades, six chargers, three ammunition belts and 150 cartridges from his possession. His other accomplice Arshid alias Laparo managed to escape. The police said that Saifur Rehman was wanted in attacks on police, carrying out terrorist activities, kidnapping for ransom etc and was at large for past several years.

HASHISH SEIZED: The police seized 12 kilogrammes of hashish from three smugglers on the Indus Highway near old toll plaza on Saturday.

The police party which recovered hashish was patrolling the area and checking vehicles as part of security measures near old toll plaza that during checking of a bus bearing registration number 9497-DR the police recovered 12 kilogrammes of hashish from Rashidullah resident of Shangl and Pervez and Sherzada, residents of Buner red-handed. They confessed to the police that they were carrying the drugs to Punjab from a tribal area.
