Man throws acid on wife

By Our Correspondent

VEHARI, June 27: A man threw acid on his wife over a domestic issue in Mujahid Colony in Burewala city police precincts on Friday.

The face and other body parts of 35-year-old Sumera were severely burnt and she was taken to Nishtar Hospital in Multan.

The mother of wife developed domestic dispute with her husband Saeed. They had an argument on Friday following which Saeed sprinkled acid on her face.

Her family took her to Burewala’s THQ Hospital but there was no burns unit there to treat such patients and she was later referred to Nishtar Hospital.

The police registered a case and started investigations. SHO Humayoun Iftikhar told Dawn that Saeed was still at large. He said that the victim was still in the intensive care unit of the Nishtar Hospital.
