By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, June 27: Administrative judge of the Anti-Terrorism Courts, Karachi, Justice Khawaja Naveed Ahmed on Friday remanded three suspects into police custody till July 3 in a kidnapping for ransom case.

According to the prosecution, accused Kashif, Manzoor and Rubina had kidnapped a four-year-old boy on June 24 in the limits of the Frere police station.

Later, they contacted the boy’s family and demanded a huge amount for his release. During the negotiations that followed, they asked for a reduced ransom of Rs1.5 million. The AVCU and CLPC, which were monitoring their telephonic conversations with the victim’s family, conducted a raid in an area in Malir and arrested the kidnappers. The boy was also recovered from their custody, the prosecution claimed.

The case (FIR No.155/08) was registered at the Frere police station under Section 265-A/34 of Pakistan Penal Code read with Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act.
